SEASON 5 Premiere!!!

Alright - so I definitely went through the "OMG you guys have to watch this it's the best show ever!" and rewatched the show a few times beginning to end. Well, I watched the first two seasons, took a long break, and then bought seasons 3 & 4 on Blu-ray (holla!) and watched those a couple weeks before the premiere. So I was just about as excited as that dude.

Anyway - on finishing the 4th season, I was super excited about 2 things. Number one: they caught up to themselves with the flashbacks/flashforwards, so that means we'll just be going back and forth between the island and L.A. (or Korea, or Desmond/Penny's boat). That's awesome. Number 2: More Daniel Faraday. LOVE HIM! Oh yeah, and duh, they're going back to the island.

----

First up. DR MARVIN CANDLE! Or is it Pierre Chang? And they have a baby?! But babies can't be born on the island! And honestly, I don't have any reason to believe that that baby is Miles. And CERTAINLY not Charlotte. Crazy talk. Okay, it could possibly be Miles. Either way it's a cute baby. But they haven't gotten to the crazy energy wheel yet, which probably does something to cause that anti-baby rule. Oh yeah, also apparently it causes time travel cause DANIEL FUCKING FARADAY is there! In the past! And some dude had a seizure? Oh man confusing! "Did you hear that? Heh, time travel. How stupid does that guy think we are?" Awesome look from Faraday!

CONNECTION! If you guys saw the video the Lost panel showed at Comic Con last year (link here), Chang is talking about time travel. Then you hear a voice, and everyone that was smart SWORE that it was Faraday talking. I agree with them. I could recognize the soft, sweet croon of Jeremy Davies anywhere... so yeah, I think that they were definitely confirming that here. He was saying that he had a credible source. Faraday....

Okay, so the island is moving. Faraday asks if it's the island or them. I say, it's the island. Ben moved the island, right? Not the people on it. They're staying stationary. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it. But then wait, someone off the island says it's been three years?! THREE YEARS?! These guys have been stuck in a time warp for three fucking years and Jack JUST NOW screams "We have to go back!" Jesus fuck are those dudes gonna be glad to see everyone else when they make the time thing stop. I have no theory on how it's going to be stopped.

I don't want to touch on Aaron right now. I think they're gonna do that in the fourth episode I think. I do however, believe that it was Sun who sent the lawyers. She's working with Widmore now in order to get find Ben so that she can kill him because of Jin's death (or probable death - you learn from this show that if you don't SEE someone die, they're probably not totally dead).

John! God, John is going to be awesome this season. So he sees Mr. Eko's brother's plane crash, then Ethan (FTW!) shoots him in the leg (I thought John was going to be paralyzed again when he fell on his back - that would have been brutal). John says Ben sent me to lead you, Ethan says "IMPOSSIBLE" and then FLASH and Ethan's gone. Then Mr. Richard Alpert, THE most mysterious person in this show appears. Gives him the compass, the same compass that John picks as a child when Alpert visits him ("Which of these things belongs to you?") so that John can give it back... Then Richard tells John he has to die. (NOTE: I'm writing this after I saw the 3rd episode so this has already been confirmed) This means that the reason that Alpert went to see John as a child in the first place was because future John told him to. I don't know if John was old enough then to remember that though, cause he didn't seem to before...

Desmond! This guy does not apply to the rules! Is it because he didn't come with the Oceanic group? Or because he was so close to the energy released from the hatch implosion that he was rocket-shipped back in time? WHERE HE MET MS. HAWKING?!?! Either way, bad things didn't happen when Faraday knocked on his door. More Desmond in the next ep...

Hurley! I don't know why we haven't really found out why Hurley's so special yet, but it's coming. I can feel it in my bones! He sees everyone from the island ("Oh yeah, Libby says hi..."), he saw Jacob's cabin without even looking for it, and there is of course the numbers. Still. Even with all of that. Hurley still seems so out of place, and Cheech Marin is his dad. What? So we find out that Hurley didn't want to lie in the first place. He's a good dude, after all. Lying's for the bad guys. And then Sayid busts in with all of his badass assassin glory and says they're in danger. A bunch of shit happens, Hurley throws a Hot Pocket at Ben's head (Ben didn't even FLINCH!) and then gets himself arrested. DUMB DUMB DUMB!

I understand that he sees Sayid as a trustworthy person, but why would he listen to him over Ana Lucia? Sure, she's dead, but Hurley's got some sort of crazy connection with these people. And surely, mentioning Libby is a straight shot to Hurley's trust, so why? Sure, Ben was being extra weird and talking to Hurley like he was a six-year-old, but yeah. I'm pretty sure everyone was yelling "DAMMIT HURLEY!" at the same time I was. I am curious to see how Ben, Sayid and Jack team up to break Hurley out of prison.

Charlotte... I'll be honest, when her nose started bleeding, I was pleased as punch! I hate Charlotte! Something about the way she talks and the way her jaw is always jutting out and she's always frowning... Anyway. Charlotte was born on the island it seems (again, babies can't be born on the island! how is this possible?!), so here's my theory on that. The reason she's the only one suffering from mind-explosions is because she should be moving back and forth in time WITH the island instead of with the people. I haven't figured out why I think that exactly, but I think maybe she's been dislodged in time and space (instead of just time?), and I think that it might be possible that while they're time warping, we'll see baby Charlotte at some point? I'm still forming this plan (AGAIN: Charlotte's dead obvs, saw the new eps. Thank GODDDD)

And then there's Ben.. sweet, wonderful Ben. The poor guy doesn't know what to do with himself right now. He's lost his power, his daughter, and his island. He's got some stuff going on in the real world (Jill the butcher, and a couple other people he mentioned) and I'm positive that he's got a plan. He always has a plan. But it's trying to make it work that's his problem. So he's got to rely on .........

MS. HAWKING! God that was exciting! Hawking, who's first name is Eloise apparently (learned that from those weird pop-up episodes that they show occasionally) IS SO OBVIOUSLY FARADAY'S MOM! (Also, duh, Eloise is the name of Faraday's lab rat) (CONFIRMED: Desmond looks for her in Oxford, hears she's in L.A.). She gives Ben a 70 hour time window. Right now (this is kind of formulated out of nowhere), I'm guessing that that weird pendulum thing is calculating where the island is traveling in time. I think that in Hawking's estimated 70 hours, the island will be at the exact point (give or take a few minutes) where the Oceanic group (plus Ben & Desmond) separated allowing them to reunite at the point where they left off. Either that, or in 70 hours, island time will match up with real world time. Actually now that I think about it that seems more likely unless Ms. Hawking can make the Oceanic 6 time travel too... that seems hard.

Okay - final conclusions of the episode. The people we know and love that are still on the island (Locke, Sawyer, Juliet, Faraday, etc) are the ones that the Others call The Hostiles. They pop up randomly, know the island extremely well, and occasionally attack the camp. Also, Sun has turned stone-cold. I swear, I thought she was going to try and kill Kate. The only person she doesn't want to kill is Hurley, cause he's the only one who cared enough to see Ji Yeon. Everybody watch out - Sun's vicious!

Anyway, please, just be my constant
